Lopos selected for the EU TRINITY robotics demonstration program 1

Lopos was one of the successful demonstrator programs in the EU TRINITY robotics demonstration program 1 for 2020-2021. During the project, Lopos demonstrated that its wearables can be used by employees to support a wide range of safety applications, ranging from accurate real-time localisation to COVID-19 tracking, forklift collision warnings and access control. The safety processes are enforced through the use of accurate ultra-wideband (UWB) technology, which allows to calculate locations or safety distances between persons and objects with an accuracy of 20 cm. When people come dangerously close to mobile robots or forklifts, the wearable triggers an alarm to notify them or to automatically slow down the machine. The solution can operate with or without installing additional infrastructure, avoiding an expensive initial installation cost and allowing customers to gradually include additional safety features over time.
In the demonstration, it was shown that an adaptive solution, such as the developed LOMSAS solution, can be reused for a wide range of applications. This ultimately leads to UWB wearables that can be used for a variety of solutions ranging from social distancing to collision warning safety zones.
